How to pay off credit card debt

Credit card debt is solvable with a boring plan you can stick to. Here’s a simple sequence — then use DebtSelector to pressure-test the numbers.

1. List every card

Balance, APR, minimum payment, and limit. You can’t prioritize what you can’t see.

2. Stop adding new charges

If you need a card for emergencies, pick one and leave the others alone until the plan is working.

3. Pick a target order

Highest APR (avalanche) or smallest balance (snowball). If you get a refund or bonus, wipe out whole cards when possible.

4. Run the math once

Before you move money, open DebtSelector and model the cash you actually have so interest and cashflow aren’t a surprise.
